Horned dinosaur fossils from Korea ..

This may not be news about K-Pop artist, but still had something to do with Korea as well ..
KOMPAS.com - Dinosaurs are believed to have links with Triceratops has a closed head and tail structure fan ever lived in the area now known as South Korea, about 103 million years ago. This is the first discovery of dinosaur horns on the Korean peninsula.
The findings, published in the journal Naturwissenschaften: The Science of Nature on November 18 include the spine, hip bones, some arm back, and tail are almost intact. This dinosaur was named Koreaceratops hwaseongensis and allegedly lived in the early Cretaceous period.
This discovery, according to Michael J Ryan, 20 million-year gap between fossils found in Asia and the first appearance in North America. Ryan is a curator and head Clevelend Museum of Natural History vertebrate paleontology section involved in the writing journal.
"This is a rare discovery," said Ryan. Dinosaur fossils are not usually found in this region, except for evidence of dinosaur eggs and footprints.
Dinosaurs Korea has an estimated length of 150 to 180 centimeters and weighs 30 to 50 kilograms. By that measure, this dinosaur is small compared with the relatives of Triceratops are found in North America. Parrot beak-like shape in front of the jaw makes investigators suspect that the animal is herbivorous.
Ryan and his colleagues suspect that these dinosaurs were bipedal and can move quickly. "Its tail is unique," says Ryan. For a dinosaur, a short tail. A few long spines called neural arches (neural arch) protruding from the tail with a frill.
There are several possible reasons why dinosaurs have tails like this. "One was purely for show. So, the fan at the tail end could be colorful and if reversed can be a tool to give the signal. That part could be developed as a flag so that it can provide signals to other animals or to attract the opposite sex, "said Ryan.
Form part of the body also helps the exchange of heat, or also to help him swim. The researchers suspect that these dinosaurs spent some time hunting for food in water. (National Geographic Indonesia / Raras Cahyafitri)
